Sharda University and WTCBIA Forge Strategic Partnership for Industry-Aligned Education Event Date: April 24, 2025

On April 24, 2025, Sharda University and the World Trade Center Business and Industry Association (WTCBIA) formally cemented a partnership to bridge academia and industry and deliver market-aligned skill training to Sharda’s student body of over 15,000. The key moments of the MoU signing ceremony were: 1. Video Message from President Pradeep Agrawal, WTCBIA • A recorded address by Mr. Pradeep Agrawal, President of WTCBIA, highlighted the association’s commitment to: • Designing and delivering industry-relevant upskilling programs. • Facilitating internships, live projects and placements for Sharda students. • Establishing a continuous feedback loop between corporate partners and university faculty to keep curricula aligned with evolving business needs. 2. Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding • On behalf of WTCBIA, Dr. Yogesh Srivasrav, Director General, signed the agreement. • Representing Sharda University, Dr. Parma Nand, Pro Vice-Chancellor signed on behalf of the university. • The two signatories then exchanged the executed MoU, symbolizing the start of a multi-year collaboration. 3. Key Pillars of the Collaboration • Skill-training workshops and certificate courses co-developed by WTCBIA experts and Sharda faculty. • Guest lectures and masterclasses delivered by senior industry practitioners. • Joint research initiatives on topics such as emerging technologies, supply-chain optimization and global trade practices. • Placement and internship pipelines facilitated through WTCBIA’s network of corporate members. 4. Impact for Students and Industry • Over 15,000 Sharda University students will gain access to hands-on training, live industry projects, mentorship and placement support. • WTCBIA members will benefit from a steady pipeline of work-ready graduates trained on the latest tools, methodologies and global best practices. 5. Next Steps • Formation of a joint Steering Committee (comprising WTCBIA executives and Sharda faculty) to finalize the first set of training modules by June 2025. • Launch of pilot certificate courses in fintech, data analytics and supply-chain management in the upcoming monsoon semester. • Scheduling of the first “Industry-Day” on campus, where students can interact directly with corporate recruiters and alumni. This partnership marks a significant milestone in fostering academia-industry linkages in the National Capital Region, equipping Sharda students with the skills and practical experience demanded by today’s global business environment.
